Sam Frock went the distance as the Boston Doves won a heart-stopping victory
over the Cincinnati Reds, 2 to 1.
The game was decided in the 9th inning. After an out was recorded, Frock
reached on an error. Bill Collins came next and he delivered a single. Buck
Herzog then laced a single making Boston the winners and sending the 1,917
fans home happy. Boston had 8 hits for the afternoon.
The win went to Frock(10-7) who allowed 1 run in the game. Rube Benton(1-1)
ended up with the loss in relief. He pitched 1/3 of an inning allowing 2
hits and no walks.
