In a two run game the red-hot Chicago Cubs got by the Philadelphia Phillies by
the score of 6 to 4.

Chicago started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the
first scoring 3 runners on 3 hits.  Philadelphia threatened in the 9th but
their rally came up short.  

The win was credited to Eddie Stack(2-0) who went 5 innings allowing 2 runs.
Larry Cheney recorded his 1st save.  Pete Alexander(12-11) was charged with
the loss.  He was unable to control the Chicago offense and allowed 12 hits
and 4 walks in 9 innings.
