At Forbes Field, the Pittsburgh faithful were treated to an intriguing
pitcher's duel.  Johnny Klippstein(8-10) finally bested his Pittsburgh
counterpart, Early Wynn(8-16), by the score of 2 to 1.

Boston-AL set the tone of the game in the first inning scoring a single run.
Boston-AL rapped out 7 hits for the afternoon.  

Hoyt Wilhelm recorded his 13th save.  Wynn was hit with the loss.  'I didn't
have my best stuff but sometimes you just get lucky,' Klippstein said, 'this
was one of those times.'
