Billy Barnie to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Baltimore
Orioles defeated the Brooklyn Grays 11 to 5 at Washington Park.
Griffin had a good day at the plate. He tripled plating two runs in the 1st
inning, hit a single knocking in a run in the 3rd inning, laced a one-base
hit which was good for two runs in the 5th inning and doubled in the 7th
inning. Both teams finished the game with 12 hits.
Smith(19-12) got the victory, allowing 5 runs for the game. Steve Toole(1-10)
was the loser. He was knocked around by Baltimore, allowing 12 hits and 5
walks in 9 innings.
'Everything seemed to click today,' Griffin said 'if it could only be this
easy all the time!'
