Second baseman Fred Pfeffer slammed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Mark Baldwin
pitched a complete game as the very talented Chicago White Stockings defeated
the Philadelphia Quakers by the score of 10 to 7 at West Side Park.

Pfeffer had a good day at the plate.  He delivered a solo blast in the 6th
inning and smashed a two-run homer in the 7th inning.  Philadelphia went down
quietly in the 9th.  

The victory went to Baldwin(19-8) who went the distance allowing 7 runs. Dan
Casey(12-14) was given the loss.  He surrended 5 homeruns in his 8 innings.
