TEAM RISP- Reds: 3 for 12 Browns: 1 for 8

Tip O'Neill blasted 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Jack Stivetts completed the
game without help from the bullpen at Sportsman's Park as the St. Louis
Browns came back dramatically to top the Boston Reds by the score of 8 to
7.

St. Louis won the game with a rally in the bottom of the 9th inning plating 2
runs on 2 hits. Tommy McCarthy led off and keyed the rally when he laced a
single. O'Neill stepped into the batter's box and he blasted a two-run home
run giving St. Louis the victory as 5,297 happy fans celebrated wildly.
Boston was not lacking for run support as they scored in 5 separate innings,
yet victory eluded them as they seemed to forget that pitching is also needed
to win ballgames.

The victory went to Stivetts(28-13) who went the distance allowing 7 runs.
Cinders O'Brien(15-8) was the losing pitcher. He allowed 3 homeruns in 8
innings of work.

Stivetts and O'Neill were really whooping it up in the clubhouse after the
great come from behind victory. As Charlie Comiskey noted, 'A win like this
one can do wonders for a team's attitude.' Everyone shares in the joy - the
fans, the players - even you guys - it's better than winning by a dozen
runs!'
