Right fielder George Decker had 2 base hits and Bill Hutchison completed the
game without help from the bullpen at Robison Field as the Chicago Colts beat
the St. Louis Browns 5 to 2.

Chicago had the game winning rally in the top of the 8th inning with 3 runs on
5 base hits.  Cap Anson started the inning off right when he laced a one-base
hit.  Walt Wilmot followed next and he singled.  Ted Breitenstein then tossed
a pitch that the catcher mis-handled which brought home a run.  Jim Canavan
came up and he lashed a single.  After an out was recorded, Decker stepped up
to the plate and he tripled plating one more runner.  Hutchison got his turn
next, but he was a strikeout victim.  Pop Schriver stepped into the batter's
box and he ripped a base-hit scoring the final run of the inning.  Chicago
totaled 9 hits on the afternoon.  

Hutchison(19-17) lasted until the end allowing 2 runs for the win.
Breitenstein(5-14) was given the loss.  Wth the win Chicago now has a record
of 40-47.  St. Louis has a record of 36-54, worst in the league after the
loss.
