WEB GEMS- Bot 6th: Duff Cooley robbed Jack Glasscock of an extra base hit.

Ted Breitenstein was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game and catcher Art Twineham had 7 hits and 6 RBI as the St. Louis
Browns man-handled the Pittsburg Pirates - the final score was 27 to
3.

Twineham was unconscious out there. While Pittsburg pitching was serving
softballs up there for him to hit, the Pittsburg fans were serving up some
hardball barbs when he entered the batter's box. But he just used it as fuel
for the fire. He laced a base-knock bringing in a run in the 2nd inning,
stroked a one-base hit in the 3rd inning, laced a single in the 4th inning,
lined a base-hit scoring a run in the 6th inning, delivered a single which
brought home a run in the 7th inning, ripped a base-knock scoring two
baserunners in the 8th inning and delivered a base-hit which scored a run in
the 9th inning. St. Louis bats were hot in the 2nd inning with 7 runs on 7
hits and the 8th inning which saw them score 7 runs on 5 hits. The St. Louis
offense man-handled the Pittsburg pitching staff as they scored in 7 of the 9
innings.

Breitenstein(17-18) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 3 runs. Tom
Colcolough(2-6) suffered the loss. He struggled with his control issuing 11
walks in 8 and 2/3 innings.
