Babe Adams took a no-hitter into the 6th inning and he had 2 base hits and 2
RBI at Redland Field as the sizzling Cincinnati Reds beat the Brooklyn
Dodgers in 12 innings by the count of 5 to 4.

The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings.  Cincinnati won the game
in the 12th inning.  Terry Turner doubled.  After an out was recorded, Hal
Chase came to bat and stroked a base-hit giving Cincinnati the victory and
sending the 5,720 home-town fans home happy.  Cincinnati had 9 hits for the
afternoon.  

The victory was credited to Hugh Bedient(9-7) who went 1 inning, allowing no
runs.  The right-handed Adams lost a no-hitter when George McConnell singled
with nobody out in the 6th inning.  Jimmy Lavender(0-4) was charged with the
loss in relief.  

With the win, Cincinnati continued their winning ways; their streak now stands
at 7 games and counting.
