The final score was 7 to 5.

St. Louis had 3 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 6th inning when they
came up with 4 base hits.  The crucial at-bat was provided by Duke Snider who
electrified Sportsman's Park when he smashed a two-run homer.  St. Louis
totaled 10 hits on the afternoon.  

The victory went to Russ Meyer(9-7) who went 6 innings, allowing 4 runs. Tom
Ferrick gained credit for his 15th save.  Joe Dobson(3-12) was the losing
pitcher.
