Buck West blasted 3 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Ed Beatin was able to finish
what he started and was credited with a complete game as the Cleveland
Spiders outscored the Chicago Colts 7 to 2.

West had a great day at the plate.  He cracked a two-run shot in the 2nd
inning, blasted a two-run home run in the 4th inning and clubbed a solo home
run in the 8th inning.  Cleveland and Chicago each finished the afternoon
with 7 hits.  

Beatin(11-25) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 2 runs. Ed
Stein(1-3) absorbed the loss.  He allowed 3 homeruns in 8 innings of work.

'I felt great out there today,' West said, 'Maybe I should make a regular
habit of getting to bed on time!'
