Jack Coombs tossed a complete game and Eddie Collins hit 2 doubles and had 2
RBI as the Philadelphia Athletics beat the league door-mat St. Louis Browns
by a score of 5 to 1.

Philadelphia claimed the early lead in the first inning when they came up with
2 runs on 3 hits.  That early scoring was all that Coombs(19-10) needed.
Philadelphia banged out 11 hits on the afternoon.  

The loss was charged to Joe Lake(8-11).  He pitched 8 innings and surrendered
11 hits and no walks.
