In a close game it was the Cleveland Indians 4, the Boston Red Sox 2 at Fenway
Park.

Cleveland jumped on top to stay in the top of the 3rd inning when they tallied
2 runs on 2 hits.  Boston threatened in the 9th but their rally came up
short.  

Bill Voiselle(5-6) went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Jim
Hearn preserved the game for Voiselle, recording his his 2nd save.  Ralph
Branca(14-7) was given the loss.  

'It's a disheartening loss, no question about it' said Allan Kaufman 'But we
have to get over it and get ready for the next game.'
