Eddie Joost cracked a homer and had 3 RBI as the indomitable Cleveland Indians
defeated the Boston Red Sox 6 to 1 at Municipal Stadium.

Cleveland did all the necessary damage in the 3rd inning when they scored 6
runs on 5 hits.  That was all the runs Bob Lemon(16-8) needed.  Cleveland
ended up with 7 hits for the game while Boston had 3.  

Ralph Branca(2-5) took the loss.  He pitched 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 7 hits
and 9 walks.
