Frank Lary held Chicago-NL to 2 hits as the Kansas City Athletics defeated the
Chicago-NL Cubs 5 to 2 at Municipal Stadium.

Kansas City jumped on top to stay in the bottom of the 2nd inning scoring one
runner on 2 hits.  Kansas City banged out 10 hits on the night.

Lary(11-10), allowing 2 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Robin
Roberts(18-7) was the loser.  'When Lary is on like that it is a tough game
to play, no doubt about it,' Ron Mead said. 'He always pitches well against
us.'
