Tip O'Neill knocked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Silver King completed the
game without help from the bullpen as the St. Louis Browns defeated the
Cincinnati Red Stockings 8 to 6 at Sportsman's Park.

O'Neill helped send the fans home happy.  He clubbed a two-run home run in the
1st inning and cleared the fences for a two-run home run in the 5th inning.
Although they lost, Cincinnati did out-hit St. Louis 12 to 7.  

The victory went to King(17-7) who went the distance allowing 6 runs. Billy
Serad(7-6) was tagged with the loss.  He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 8
innings of work.
