Chicago scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 9th inning with 2 runs using 2 hits. Van Haltren led off and started the rally when he reached on an error. Billy Sunday was next and he stroked a base-hit. Jimmy Ryan then drew a walk to load the bases. Marty Sullivan followed and he delivered a single making Chicago the victors to the delight of the home town faithful. Both teams ended up with 6 hits on the afternoon.
