Bob Caruthers had a complete game as the Brooklyn Bridegrooms defeated the
Louisville Colonels by the score of 4 to 3 at Washington
Park.

Caruthers(20-11) pitched well for Brooklyn in their victory.  He went 9
innings surrendering 7 hits and 3 walks.  Louisville made it exciting in the
9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.  

John Ewing(8-3) was the losing pitcher.  He allowed 9 hits and no walks in 8
innings.
