In a good matchup it was the Boston Beaneaters 7, the Brooklyn Grooms 4 at
South End Grounds.

Boston wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning when they scored 5
runs on 4 hits.  That was all the offense they were to need.  Boston rapped
out 9 hits for the afternoon.  

Frank Sexton(3-5) picked up the victory, allowing 4 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings.
Sexton was helped out by Cozy Dolan who recorded his 3rd save.  Ed Stein(7-8)
took the loss.  

With this win, Boston has a 51-30 record.  They have been 7-3 lately.  With
this loss, Brooklyn has a 6-4 record of late, 45-37 overall.
