Al Orth had 4 hits and 3 RBI at Exposition Park as the Philadelphia Phillies
staged a comeback win over the Pittsburg Pirates by the count of 17 to
4.

The difference in the game was the offensive outburst by Philadelphia in the
top of the 9th inning as they erupted for 14 runs on 12 hits. The highlight
belonged to Nap Lajoie who quieted the crowd when he tripled clearing the
bases. Philadelphia provided plenty of action in the 9th inning when they
had 14 runs on 12 hits. This was the kind of game that many fans love as the
lead changed hands 5 times.

Red Donahue(11-5) went 8 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory. Jack
Chesbro(7-10) ended up with the loss. He was touched for 18 hits and 3 walks
in 9 innings.

'We just kept swinging the bats and didn't give up,' Orth said. 'If you just
keep trying good things can happen!'
