Grounds by the score of 4 to 3.
The score was knotted at 3 after nine innings. Brooklyn came out the victor
in the 12th inning. After two were out Buck Herzog drew a walk. Herzog took
off for second and slid in with a stolen base. Mike Mitchell then lined a
one-base hit scoring the run. Brooklyn had a total of 9 hits for the game.
George Winter(11-3) got credit for the victory, pitching 5 innings and
allowing 1 run. Christy Mathewson preserved the game for Winter, recording
his his 2nd save. Irv Higginbotham(1-3) was tagged with the loss.
