Gene Hermanski knocked 2 homeruns and scored 3 times and Ken Raffensberger
completed the game without help from the bullpen at Yankee Stadium as the New
York Yankees beat the Cincinnati Reds 4 to 2.

Hermanski provided much of the offense. He ripped a base-knock in the 1st
inning, lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 4th inning, ripped a solo home
run in the 6th inning and tripled in the 8th inning. Cincinnati tried
unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.

The victory was credited to Raffensberger(12-2) who went the distance,
allowing 2 runs. The loss was charged to Dick Fowler(8-7).
