Warren Spahn went the distance as the Washington Nationals defeated the
Cincinnati Reds by a score of 5 to 2 at Crosley Field.

Washington scored 2 runs in the decisive top of the 7th inning when they had 3
base hits.  The big moment was provided by Hal Naragon who quieted the home
crowd when he tripled which was good for two runs.  Washington totaled 8 hits
on the afternoon.  

The victory went to Spahn(14-8) who went the distance allowing 2 runs. Jim
Hearn(2-1) suffered the loss.  He gave up 6 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings.

With this win, Washington has a 56-55 record.  They have been 6-4 lately. With
the loss, the Cincinnati ballclub's record is 68-51.
