Joe Farrell had 3 base hits and 3 RBI and Stump Weidman went the distance at
Recreation Park as the Detroit Wolverines beat the Chicago White Stockings 6
to 5.

Detroit came up with 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning when they had 3
base hits. The key at-bat was by Charlie Bennett who brought a roar from the
partisan Recreation Park fans when he rifled a three-run blast. Chicago
tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.

Weidman(12-16) allowed 5 runs on the game. The losing pitcher was Fred
Goldsmith(19-12). The Detroit ballclub's record now stands at 28-37. With
the loss Chicago now has a record of 41-22.
