Lee Viau was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game at League Park as the Cincinnati Red Stockings beat the Baltimore
Orioles 5 to 4.

Cincinnati had 3 runs cross the plate in the 7th inning with the help of 4
hits.  The critical plate appearance was by Frank Fennelly who came through
for the home fans when he lined a base-hit scoring two baserunners.
Baltimore threatened in the 9th but Cincinnati was able to put down the
rally.  

The win was credited to Viau(16-7) who went the whole way allowing 4 runs.
Bert Cunningham(13-15) ended up with the loss.  He gave up 5 runs and 8 hits
in 8 innings.
