It was a good day for Cleveland thanks to Zimmer. He cracked a solo homerun in the 3rd inning, ripped a base-hit in the 5th inning, lashed a single knocking in a run in the 5th inning, slapped a one-base hit in the 7th inning and slapped a base-hit which was good for two runs in the 8th inning. Cleveland bats were very productive in the 5th inning which saw them plate 6 runs on 8 hits and the 8th inning which saw them score 4 runs on 3 hits. Cleveland dominated offensively as they scored in 6 different innings. The win went to Young(17-10) who allowed 1 run in the game. Bert Cunningham(9-8) ended up with the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 21 hits and 6 walks in 8 innings. 'Ahhh, how sweet it is,' Patsy Tebeau sighed. 'That win feels like a tall, cool drink of water after spending far too much time in the desert lately.'
