Third baseman Jimmy Esmond hit one over the fence and had 4 RBI and Frank
Smith was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game at Palace of the Fans as the Cincinnati Reds embarrassed the Boston
Rustlers by the lopsided score of 14 to 4.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Esmond. He hit a single in the 2nd inning, laced a one-base hit
which scored a run in the 8th inning and lofted a three-run bomb in the 8th
inning. Cincinnati finished with 18 hits in the victory.

The win was credited to Smith(9-6) who went the whole way allowing 4 runs. Al
Mattern(7-12) was hit with the loss. He surrendered 14 hits and 1 walk in 7
innings.
