Lefty Tyler was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game and first baseman Butch Schmidt hit 2 doubles and had 6 RBI at
West Side Park as the Boston Braves beat the Chicago Cubs by the count of 8
to 3.

Schmidt had a big day with his bat.  He delivered a base-hit bringing in two
baserunners in the 5th inning, doubled knocking in a run in the 7th inning
and doubled plating all three baserunners in the 8th inning.  Boston totaled
15 hits on the afternoon.  

Tyler(8-8) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 3 runs. Jimmy
Lavender(4-4) was the loser in relief.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 9
hits and 5 walks in 4 innings.
