WEB GEMS- Bot 8th: Dick Sisler robbed Eddie Yost of an extra base hit.

Larry Doby went yard and had 2 RBI as the Cincinnati Reds beat the Chicago-NL
Cubs in 11 innings by a score of 6 to 3.

The score was tied at 3 after nine. Cincinnati won the hard fought contest in
the 11th inning. After an out was recorded, Jackie Robinson started the
rally when he drew a walk. Doby stepped up to the plate and he popped a
two-run clout over the fence. One out later, Bob Elliott then hit a
bases-empty home run. Cincinnati out-hit Chicago-NL for the game, 12 hits to
8.

Ken Heintzelman(1-2) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 inning. Bob Miller
gained credit for his 11th save. Howie Judson(4-7) was charged with the loss
in relief. Cincinnati knocked him around a bit, as he gave up 3 runs in 2
and 1/3 innings.

'It felt really nice to get this win,' Heintzelman said. 'I kind of dictated
the game. It's what I get paid to do. It worked out this time.'
