Sid Hudson(7-4), with relief help from Joe Dobson, handcuffed the
Philadelphia-AL Athletics batters at Connie Mack Stadium in a day game. The
very potent Chicago-NL Cubs scored 6 runs for the win.
Hudson pitched well for Chicago-NL in their victory. He was reached for 5
hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings lowering his ERA from 4.70 to 4.37.
Hudson got help from Dobson who pitched a perfect ninth and was credited with
his 2nd save.
Johnny Antonelli(3-11) was the loser. He surrendered 6 hits and 4 walks in 7
innings.
