14,322 fans watched an exciting game at Forbes Field.  The spectacular
Pittsburgh Pirates topped the floundering Cincinnati Reds by the slimmest of
margins, 4 to 3.

Bob Turley(13-7) delivered a fine performance for Pittsburgh.  He went 7
innings and surrended up 5 hits and 6 walks.  Cincinnati made it exciting in
the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.  

Jack Harshman was credited with his 8th save.  Russ Meyer(6-7) took the loss.
He gave up 4 runs and 9 hits in 7 innings.
