Pete Wood allowed Jack Chapman to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as
the Buffalo Bisons beat the Philadelphia Quakers by a score of 10 to
7.

Buffalo had the game winning rally in the top of the 8th inning scoring 3 runs
on 3 base hits. Jim Lillie led off the inning for Buffalo when he delivered
a base-hit. Wood was next and he lined a one-base hit. Wood got a good lead
and stole second. After an out was recorded, Dan Brouthers came to bat and
doubled, and an error was also committed, emptying the bases. The
Philadelphia bats were silent in the bottom of the 9th.

The victory went to Wood(2-6) who went the distance allowing 7 runs. Charlie
Ferguson(14-10) was the loser. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 12 hits and
4 walks in 9 innings.
