Irv Young was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game as the Boston Beaneaters topped the Pittsburgh Pirates by a score of 5
to 3 at South End Grounds.

In the bottom of the 2nd inning Boston went on top for good plating one
baserunner using 2 hits.  That scoring would be all that was needed.
Pittsburgh went down without a fight in the 9th.  

The victory was credited to Young(9-18) who went the distance, allowing 3
runs. Vic Willis(11-13) was the loser.  He gave up 9 hits and 1 walk in 8
innings.
