Charlie Buffinton pitched a complete game as the Philadelphia Quakers topped
the Chicago White Stockings in 10 innings by a score of 8 to 5 at West Side
Park.

The score was tied at 4 after nine.  Philadelphia won the hard fought contest
in the 10th inning.  The game was a wild affair with the lead changing hands
5 times.  

Buffinton(11-13), allowing 5 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Mark
Baldwin(19-9) was tagged with the loss.  He got hit hard, allowing 13 hits
and 2 walks in 10 innings.  

The Philadelphia ballclub's record now stands at 37-43.  Chicago has a record
of 53-25 after the loss.
