Stivetts enjoyed a great day at the plate. Every time he came up in the latter innings, the crowd was on their feet cheering. He lofted a three-run bomb in the 1st inning, smashed a two-run homer in the 5th inning, stroked a one-base hit in the 7th inning and lined a base-hit bringing in a run in the 8th inning. St. Louis had 18 hits overall, while Baltimore had 9. Jack Easton(10-10) got the win allowing 7 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings. Sadie McMahon(22-17) was the loser. He was knocked around, surrendering 12 runs in 8 innings. 'It's almost like the ball was trying to hit my bat,' Stivetts said. 'Whenever I would swing, the ball found the sweet spot.'
