Jack Taylor tossed a complete game and Joe Tinker had 2 base hits at West Side
Park where the Chicago Cubs beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 5 to 3.

Taylor(20-6) gave Chicago a solid outing.  He went 9 innings and surrended up
5 hits and 1 walk and surrendered 2 homeruns.  Pittsburgh had a chance to
come back in the 9th but they came up short.  

Brickyard Kennedy(8-6) was the losing pitcher.  Frank Selee was in a talkative
mood in the clubhouse, 'Great game! If only we could win all of the close
ones - wouldn't that be nice! Since that's not going to happen, I think I'll
savor this one for a little while.'
