2,807 fans were treated to a fine game at Washington Park as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end.  The Cincinnati Reds won by the
slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.

The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings. Cincinnati came out on top in
the 10th inning.  Tom Downey ripped a single.  Lobert then stole second base.
One out later, Tommy Clarke then worked the squeeze play to perfection
scoring the run.  Cincinnati finished with 11 hits in the victory.  

The win was credited to Harry Gaspar(13-7) who went 9 innings allowing 2 runs.
Gaspar got help from Rube Benton who earned his 4th save.  Doc Scanlan(9-8)
took the loss.
