Field had a big day with his bat. He lined a single in the 5th inning, smacked a three-run homer in the 6th inning and cleared the fences for a two-run home run in the 7th inning. Columbus bats were very productive in the 1st inning with 4 runs on 4 hits, the 6th inning when they had 5 runs on 4 hits and the 7th inning which saw them score 4 runs on 4 hits. Columbus simply wore out the Indianapolis pitching staff, scoring in 6 different innings. Morris(23-13) was the winner allowing 1 run for the game. Tommy Bond(1-3) ended up with the loss. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 19 runs in 9 innings. 'I felt great out there today' Field said. 'I was seeing the ball perfectly, and I was right on it with my swing.
