Farmer Weaver collected 2 extra-base hits and had 2 RBI and Jouett Meekin had
a complete game at Eclipse Park as the Louisville Colonels won in dramatic
fashion coming back to beat the dreadful Washington Statesmen by the count of
15 to 14.

Louisville had the winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning with 2 runs
on 2 hits. After an out was recorded, Patsy Donovan got things rolling when
he doubled. One out later, Harry Taylor stepped up to the plate and he drew
a walk. Weaver then drew a walk to load the bases. Hughie Jennings came up
and he drew a walk resulting in a run. Chicken Wolf came up to bat and
slapped a base-hit making Louisville the victors to the delight of the home
town faithful. Louisville bats were hot in the 5th inning when they had 7
runs on 5 hits. A wild affair, this game saw the lead change 6 times.

Meekin(9-4) was the winner allowing 14 runs for the game. Gil Hatfield(0-1)
absorbed the loss in relief. He surrendered 2 hits and 3 walks in 2/3 of an
inning.
