Ice Box Chamberlain pitched a 3 hitter and Charlie Comiskey had 2 base hits at
League Park where the Cincinnati Reds beat the Cleveland Spiders by the score
of 4 to 2.

In the top of the 7th inning Cincinnati scored 2 runs. Cincinnati banged out 9
hits on the afternoon.  Chamberlain(19-14), allowing 2 runs for the game,
picked up the victory. Nig Cuppy(19-10) absorbed the loss.  He surrendered 9
hits and 2 walks in 9 innings.  

'I always am most impressed when a pitcher finds a way to win even without his
best stuff,' Comiskey said after the game.  'Chamberlain did not have command
of his pitches most of the afternoon, but he proved he really knew how to
pitch!'
