Jack Sutthoff allowed Philadelphia's manager to rest his bullpen, tossing a
complete game as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates in
11 innings by the score of 8 to 7 at Baker Bowl.

The score was knotted at 3 after nine innings.  Philadelphia ended up winning
it in the 11th inning.  Jack Doyle got things going when he doubled.  After
an out was recorded, Hugh Duffy came up and he delivered a base-hit knocking
in a run.  Harry Wolverton then tripled making Philadelphia victorious to the
delight of the the home town crowd.  This was a game of many highs and lows
for the home town fans, as the lead kept changing - 5 times in all.

Sutthoff(11-5) allowed 7 runs on the game. The losing pitcher was Lew
Moren(0-1) in relief.  He pitched 1 and 1/3 innings allowing 7 hits and no
walks.
