Harry Howell completed the game without help from the bullpen at Huntington
Ave Grnds as the St. Louis-AL Browns pulled off a dramatic comeback beating
the Boston-AL Americans by the count of 2 to 1.
St. Louis-AL had the winning rally in the top of the 9th inning plating 2
runs. After an out was recorded, Ollie Pickering began the St. Louis-AL
spurt when he drew a walk. Tim Singer then called for a steal which was
successful. Bobby Wallace then drew a walk. St. Louis-AL continued their
aggressive style with another stolen base. Larry McLean came up to bat and
laced a single plating two runs. Both teams finished the game with 6 hits.
The win was credited to Howell(9-10) who went the whole way allowing 1 run.
Wild Bill Donovan(13-8) absorbed the loss. Dale Van Leven was not very
talkative after his team's tough loss. 'I'm not in the mood for questions,
but I'm sure Tim Singer will be glad to talk about the game as long as you
have questions to ask.'
