Baseballs were flying all over the ballpark as the Cincinnati Reds ran
roughshod over the seemingly hapless Washington Nationals. The Cincinnati
offense rolled up a total of 17 runs!.

Harry Hooper had a big day at the plate. He lifted one out of the park for a
two run home run in the 1st inning, ripped a one-base hit plating two runs in
the 5th inning and doubled resulting in a run in the 8th inning. Cincinnati
bats were very productive in the 1st inning when they had 7 runs on 5 hits
and the 8th inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 4 hits. Cincinnati had 15
hits for the game and Washington had 5.

Ed Summers(11-5) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 7 innings. Tom Hughes(0-2)
was the losing pitcher. His biggest problem was control as he allowed 7
walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.

Wth the win Cincinnati now has a record of 67-59. Washington has a record of
50-60 after the loss.
