Walter Johnson delivered 9 solid innings and Eddie Ainsmith had 2 base hits
and 2 RBI at Polo Grounds where the Boston-AL Red Sox beat the New York-NL
Giants 7 to 1.

New York-NL was unable to recover after Boston-AL went ahead in the top of the
3rd inning scoring a single run.  Max Carey doubled.  One out later, Shoeless
Joe Jackson came up and he hit a sacrifice fly scoring the run.  Boston-AL
finished with 11 hits in the victory.  

Johnson(19-12) lasted until the end allowing 1 run for the win. Nap
Rucker(15-13) took the loss.  'Johnson took our guys to school' Brian
Capsello said. 'Too bad he doesn't pitch for us - it would make my job a
whole lot easier!'
