Otto Hess had 2 base hits at South End Grounds where the Boston Braves beat
the slumping Chicago Cubs by the score of 4 to 2.

Boston scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning with the help of 3 hits.
George Jackson kicked off the action when he drew a walk.  After an out was
recorded, Art Devlin stepped up to the plate and he doubled plating a run.
Al Bridwell then ripped a single bringing in another run.  One out later,
Hess came to bat and tripled scoring the final run of the inning.  The game
was a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.  

Hess(10-10) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings. Bill McTigue
got the save, his 2nd.  Larry Cheney(19-3) ended up with the loss.  

The Boston ballclub's record now stands at 34-67.  With the loss, Chicago has
a record of 3-7 lately, 72-30 overall.
