Sam Crawford had 3 base hits and 3 RBI at Griffith Stadium as the Pittsburgh
Pirates belted the Washington Nationals by the count of 16 to 5.

The game started off with Pittsburgh taking the lead in the first scoring 4
runners on 5 hits.  Pittsburgh bats were hot in the 1st inning when they had
4 runs on 5 hits and the 2nd inning with 4 runs on 5 hits.  Pittsburgh ended
up with 21 hits for the game while Washington had 12.  

The winning pitcher was Eddie Stack(8-6) who allowed 2 runs in 5 and 1/3
innings. Charlie Smith recorded the save, his 5th.  Smoky Joe Wood(19-11) was
the loser.  He allowed 10 hits and no walks in 1 and 2/3 innings.
