Ernie Shore allowed Bill Carrigan to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
as the Boston Red Sox beat the St. Louis Browns in 10 innings by a score of 3
to 2.
The score was tied at 2 after nine. Boston ended up winning it in the 10th
inning. Hick Cady delivered a one-base hit. Ernie Koob then tossed a pitch
that the catcher mis-handled. Shore then laid down a sacrifice bunt. Harry
Hooper came up and he banged out a single making Boston the victors to the
delight of the home town faithful. Boston banged out 8 hits on the
afternoon.
The victory was credited to Shore(11-4) who went the distance, allowing 2
runs. Koob(5-5) was tagged with the loss.
