Gil Hodges touched them all and had 4 RBI at Forbes Field as the Cleveland
Indians beat the Pittsburgh Pirates by the count of 7 to 3.

Hodges had a big evening at the plate. He popped a two-run clout over the
fence in the 5th inning, banged out a single bringing home two baserunners in
the 6th inning and laced a one-base hit in the 8th inning. Cleveland
finished with 14 hits while Pittsburgh ended up with 2.

The win was credited to Bob Lemon(17-8) who went 7 innings allowing 3 runs.
Joe Dobson(3-13) took the loss. He pitched 6 innings giving up 7 hits and 3
walks.

Wth the win Cleveland now has a record of a league leading 81-41. Pittsburgh
will hope that this loss is only a 'blip' on their recent 8-2 run - and not a
start of a new trend.
