Del Crandall had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the Cincinnati Reds clobbered the
outmatched Washington Nationals, 15 to 1.

Crandall helped send the fans home happy.  He slapped a base-hit which scored
a run in the 1st inning, laced a one-base hit which brought home a run in the
4th inning, doubled in the 6th inning and smacked a single bringing in a run
in the 7th inning.  Cincinnati bats were very productive in the 8th inning
when they had 4 runs on 4 hits.  The Cincinnati offense smacked the
Washington pitching staff around, scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.  

Bob Porterfield(13-5) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 8 innings. Alex
Kellner(1-3) was tagged with the loss.  He surrendered 11 runs in 6 and 1/3
innings and saw his ERA increase from 4.70 to 6.57.
