Columbia Park.

Pittsburgh came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning scoring 2 runs
utilizing 2 base hits. Billy Gilbert led off and keyed the rally when he
drew a walk. After an out was recorded, Tommy Corcoran came up and he
doubled, and an error was also committed, knocking home two runners.
Philadelphia-AL went down without a fight in the bottom of the 9th.

Bob Wicker(12-17) got the win allowing 1 run in 3 innings. Jock Menefee(4-7)
was hit with the loss in relief. Pittsburgh knocked him around a bit, as he
gave up 4 runs in 3 innings.

'I pin this one on my own shoulders,' Menefee said. 'The bottom line is I
didn't get the job done. Our fans deserve better than this.'
